Susan
Murray

MP for Mid Dunbartionshire

Susan is the MP for Mid Dunbartonshire. A former local councillor for Kirkintilloch East and North and Twechar, Susan is a strong, local, and hardworking campaigner with the experience to deliver the change we need.

She is a successful businesswoman who lives locally and has experience getting things done as an East Dunbartonshire councillor to deliver on the issues that matter most to residents.

For Susan, improving local healthcare is a personal priority. When her husband suffered a stroke, she became a carer. Her experience means Susan knows how important it is to have good quality NHS facilities in our community, like the new Milngavie health and care centre she is campaigning for.

My Priorities

1

Bearsden and Milngive and
Health Center

Susan has strongly advocated the establishment of a new health and care centre to serve  Bearsden and Milngavie. She emphasises that the current lack of local facilities forces residents, particularly older people, to travel to Kirkintilloch for essential services.

2

Improve Bus Access

Susan has been a vocal advocate for improved public transport in the constituency. She has written to the Scottish Government's Cabinet Secretary for Transport, emphasising the enhancement of local bus services.

3

Advocated for Improved School Facilities

Susan has emphasised the urgent need to address the condition of school buildings in East Dunbartonshire. She has been advocating for increased capital funding from the UK Government to enable the Scottish Government to enhance local school infrastructure

4

Protecting our
Local Environment

Susan is committed to protecting the local environment through various initiatives, such as supporting the Climate and Nature Bill, as well as hosting a community webinar on heat pumps, highlighting their potential to reduce energy bills and combat climate change

5

Protecting The NHS

Susan has voted for an amendment to exempt local health and care providers from the UK Government's planned rise in employers’ national insurance contributions. She expressed concern that this "health tax" would exacerbate the existing crisis in the health service, stating,
